"I am pleased to share some good news for people and planet," UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said to a packed room of press delegates. The good news? After three years of negotiations and debate, 193 countries had agreed to a set of sustainability development goals (SDG) more bold and ambitious than anything that has come before them.
The Sustainable Development Goals are a collection of 17 global goals set by the United Nations in 2015. The goals are broad and somewhat interdependent, yet each has a separate list of targets to achieve. Achieving all 169 targets would signal accomplishing all 17 goals. The SDGs cover social and economic development issues including poverty, hunger, health, education, climate change, gender equality, water, sanitation, energy, urbanization, environment and social justice.

How Egain align with the goals
Goal no 7 - Renewable energy
With Egain, energy use in real estate is reduced by 10-20 % through smart energy optimization using artificial intelligence specially designed for apartment buildings.
Goal no 11 - Sustainable cities and communities
A clear trend is that a large part of annual energy costs are more and more linked to the extra feed for unpredictable fluctuations in energy usage that are charged by the energy companies. With Egain proactively avoid these heat peak loads while maintaining indoor comfort.
Goal no 13 - Climate action
Buildings account for 36 % of greenhouse emissions, and the demands for energy efficient buildings are increasing rapidly. With Egain, carbon dioxide emissions are sharply reduced from day one and energy consumption on average reduced by 12 kWh/m2 while the indoor climate is more balanced for the residents. In 2017 in cooperation with our clients, we reduced carbon dioxide emissions with 22,296,387 kg.
